Using a laser safe curtain to create a protective barrier is a great solution for many situations. However, it is critical to properly maintain and care for the curtain to ensure its longevity and safety. Laser safe barriers and additional protective measures defined by the specific application should be subject to regular inspection. Laser safety barriers with a damaged surface must not be used!
Instructions for handling and use:
- Do not expose to permanent daylight and UV light radiation
- Protect from scratches and mechanical stresses- no sharp kink or folds
- Protect from chemicals, acids, bases, vapors and poisonous or reactive gases
- Do not soak into sterilization or disinfection solutions
- Clean with dry cloth only
- Do not store on radiators and heating devices
- Ensure good ventilation in high humidity, ideally avoid humid areas
- Respect surface weight when mounting
How to Clean your Laser Curtain
For all of our laser safety curtains and materials, we recommend you wash by hand using a wash cloth and Windex. Do not spray Windex directly on the material, instead spray the cleaning cloth before wiping them down. Another cleaning method would be to use a micro fiber cloth and warm water. Do NOT machine wash this material due to its composition. Do NOT use abrasive chemicals, only use non- alcohol or non- disinfectants.
Specialty layers for Medical Applications
In certain medical applications, additional layers of material are added as an option to allow for sterilization. In this instance and specific to this optional layer of material, disinfectants are permitted for cleaning. These optional materials (ESD, ESD Premium, Antibacterial, and Clean Room) can be disinfected with alcohol-based disinfectants.
Proper Storage for your Laser Curtain
We recommend rolling the material up and then placing it in a dry place to store. Do not fold the material as it will hold creases and create holes making the barrier unstable for future use.
